LSTS researchers @VUB Ethics Week 2019 (2-6 December 2019)

[Event] The Ethics Week 2019 (2-6 December) offers the VUB research community the opportunity to respond to challenges in research ethics, through a series of events around ethical themes. LSTS members will be present with talks and debates.

On 3 December, Prof. Rosamunde van Brakel and Jim Dratwa will participate at a lunch session on 'Thinking machines: the ethics of Artificial Intelligence' (12:00-14:00) at U-Residence, Campus Etterbeek. Sara Roda will present the HR-Recycler project as a case study.

On 4 December, LSTS researcher and HALL member Audrey van Scharen will be hosting debates on the topic 'Ethics and Gerontology: Do you want to live forever?' at the VUB Faculty of Health, in Jette Campus Atrium. The debate content is prepared and moderated by the students of the Research Master in Gerontological Sciences.

On 5 December, Audrey van Scharen will be hosting debates on the topics: 'Cryopreservation for everybody?' (12:00-13:00) and 'Should vaccination be mandatory?' (13:00-14:00) at the VUB Faculty of Health, in Jette Campus Atrium. The debate content is prepared and moderated by the students of the Master Biomedical Sciences.
