The Research Group on Law, Science, Technology & Society (LSTS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), with the collaboration of the Center of Technology and Society (CTS) of the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) Law School, is pleased to announce the international conference
‘The Global Impact of EU’s Regulations on Platform, AI, and Data Governance: The Case of Brazil
Empowering digital policies beyond EU borders’
Across three panels, this one-day event will analyse the benefits of integrating the EU's legal approach into Brazil's strategies for regulating digital platforms, artificial intelligence (AI) governance and personal data protection. These discussions aim to highlight the broader implications for other countries and regions, fostering a discourse that is not only comprehensive but also attuned to the complex local realities.
The hybrid event will take place on 21 May 2024, on the margins of the CPDP Computers, Privacy and Data Protection conference 2024. On-site in Tour & Taxis, ‘Produits Dangereux’ (Avenue du Port / Havenlaan 86c B-1000 Brussels), and online, from 9:30 to 16:40.
