Sophia Bordier
Biography
Sophia is a PhD student in Political Sciences at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon - Sorbonne, under the supervision of Prof. Didier Georgakakis. She is also a member of the European Centre of Sociology and Political Science. Sophia’s PhD research focuses on the reform of the ePrivacy legislation. Her scholarly interests encompass the sociology of public action, privacy within the context of European digital regulation, particularly the data protection policy, and the sociology of the European Union.
She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in law and political sciences from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon - Sorbonne in Paris. In 2019, she obtained a master’s degree in European Public Affairs from the same University with a thesis focusing on the adoption of the GPDR. In 2020, she achieved a second master’s degree in sociology at École Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, this time with a thesis on the lobbying strategies of big tech companies on the European Artificial Intelligence Policy.
