[Blogpost] On 25 November 2020, Professors Vagelis Papakonstantinou and Paul de Hert published a new blogpost on the European Law Blog.
In their blogpost entitled 'Refusing to award legal personality to AI: Why the European Parliament got it wrong', Papakonstantinou and de Hert discuss the three Resolutions, issued by the European Parliament last October, on the ethical and legal aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) software systems. They draw particular attention on the fact that none of those Resolutions provides AI software systems with legal personality and futher provide their views on why this is not a right approach.
