LSTS is looking for a motivated researcher to join its team on citizen science and climate change. The successful applicant will work closely with the Health and Ageing Law Lab (HALL) led by Professor Paul Quinn.
As part of their duties, the candidate will be working on an innovation project co-funded by the European Commission (‘SOCIO-BEE’) in the area of citizen science, in support of the European Green Deal, providing legal support. The project proposes that community engagement and social innovation combined with citizen science through emerging technologies and playful interaction can bridge the gap between the capacity of communities to adopt more sustainable behaviours aligned with environmental policy objectives and between the citizen intentions and the real behaviour to act in favour of the environment (in this project, to reduce air pollution). The project ambitions the scalable activation of changes in citizens’ behaviour in support of pro-environment action groups, local sponsors, voluntary sector and policies in cities.
