The Meet the Author debate organised by Brussels Privacy Hub is proud to host Prof. Jaap-Henk Hoepman with his book Privacy is Hard and Seven Other Myths - Achieving Privacy through Careful Design.
In this book, he debunks eight persistent myths about privacy. He thereby disproves the argument that privacy needs to be hard, arguing that if systems are carefully build with privacy by design in mind, technology might be able to protect our privacy. This is a relevant argument also for the context of the discussions about the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) currently ongoing within the European bubble.
Mireille Hildebrandt will take part in the debate as discussant.
The event takes place in person at VUB U-residence on 30 May 2022, 12:00-14:00. For more information, click here.
