This year saw a big step in the fight against cybercrime with the adoption of the second Additional Protocol to the Budapest Convention, the European Union’s AI Act proposal which regulates (restricts) the use of AI for law enforcement purposes, and the strengthened efforts towards a UN treaty on cybercrime.
On 21 June 2022, Dr. Desara Dushi will moderate the session on Criminal Justice in Cyberspace: Where we are and where are we heading to? at the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG2022) Conference in Trieste, Italy. This session will address whether the new tools for international cooperation on criminal justice in cyberspace are the solution, or only the first step towards better protection against cybercrime and what will be their impact in practice. Dr. Dushi also served as the Focal Point of this session, taking over the responsibility and lead of the session organisation. This session involves speakers from different stakeholder groups, aiming towards an all-encompassing debate on the topic.
