Biographical note
Alp Berkay Soyfidan holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and an Advanced Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property and ICT Law from KU Leuven. His master’s thesis, Emotion Recognition in the Workplace and Its Impact on Fundamental Rights, examined the use of affect-recognition systems by employers and the challenges such systems raise for privacy, data protection, non-discrimination and human dignity.
He has more than six years of professional experience as a research and teaching assistant at law faculties in Türkiye. His work focuses on the interaction between disruptive technologies and fundamental rights, as well as on cybersecurity law and policy.
