Andreas Kanakakis
Biography
Andreas completed his undergraduate studies in Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2017-2021). In 2022 he joined the European Law School Network and obtained a master’s degree in European Law and Comparative Legal Studies with a specialisation in Criminal Law at the Humboldt University in Berlin. His master thesis focuses on the European Investigation Order and the actual challenges the institution has to face.
Andreas is a qualified lawyer, admitted to the Athens Bar Association. He has worked as an intern at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic and at a law firm.
In September 2023, Andreas became a PhD candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and at the University of Luxembourg. He joined the Fundamental Rights in a Changing World Lab (FRCL) as part of the PROMODE (Modernising Codes of Criminal Procedure on digital investigative methods: combining the languages of criminal procedural law, data protection law and European human rights law) research project.
