Arjun Bhubaneshwar Banerjee
Biography
Arjun Banerjee is a legal researcher and a PhD student at LSTS. He focuses on subject areas related to applications of Artificial Intelligence in the legal sector.
He obtained his LLB degree from Nagpur University, India and became a member of the Bar Council of India in 2018. Then he worked as a lawyer in the fields of Intellectual Property Law, Technology Law and Data Privacy Law in New Delhi and Mumbai. He then moved to Brussels in order to pursue higher education through an Advanced Master’s Degree (LLM) in International and European Law with a specialisation in Data Privacy Law at the Institute for European Studies, VUB. His Master’s thesis titled ‘Screening the Dark Patterns: Evil User Interface Design Practices & How to Tackle Them?’ garnered immense recognition from his readers and led him to graduate with great distinction from the LLM.
Now as a PhD student at VUB he seeks to delve deeper and explore the areas of legal research where technology interacts directly with law, this includes, but is not limited to, applications of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technologies in Online Dispute Resolution.
