We invite expressions of interest for an international workshop on Teaching with Data Rights, hosted by the Law, Science, Technology & Society (LSTS) Research Group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) on Friday 9 February 2024, in Brussels (Belgium). The workshop will bring together educators and researchers with experience or interested in using data rights in their teaching.
We are looking for participants with experience in using data rights in teaching or interested in learning from others how to integrate them in their curricula. We are committed to integrating perspectives from different disciplines present at the workshop (e.g., computer science, critical data studies, education studies, law, etc.) to stimulate new insights and creative usages.
We ask interested participants to submit a short motivation letter (max 1 page) describing how they use or see a connection between data rights and their educational activities. Send your expression of interest to: Rocco.Saverino@vub.be. Limited funding is available to cover (international) travel expenses of some participants. Please indicate in your expression of interest whether you would require funding to participate.
