On 30 September 2019, René Mahieu and Joris van Hoboken published a commentary on the European Law Blog entitled "Fashion-ID: Introducing a phase-oriented approach to data protection?"
In this commentary they question whether the new way in which the CJEU limits the responsibilities of joint controllers will help ensure complete and effective protection of the rights and fundamental freedoms of the data subject.
