Eleonora Nestola
Biography
Eleonora Nestola is a researcher in the LSTS research group since September 2019. Her main research interests are data protection, electoral law and political participation. She is currently preparing her PHD on the use of personal data in political campaigning online.
Eleonora graduated from the Bologna University in International law in 2008, she conducted her thesis research at the New York University and she has been an exchange student at University of Copenhagen. She holds an LLM in European competition and IP law from ULG – Liege Competition and Innovation Institute from 2013. She qualified in Italy in 2011 and from 2014 she worked as registered lawyer to the Italian and Brussels bar (e-list). Having gained experience in EU affairs at the Council of the European Union, she worked as associate lawyer in Brussels and Paris focusing on policy and regulatory issues in the digital sector. She has been senior privacy consultant for large Belgian public entities. She is a legal counsel with experience in data protection, regulatory, telecom and smart manufacturing.
