Giorgio Ronchi
Biography
Giorgio Ronchi is completing his law degree at Roma Tre University. His main interests are data protection, digital regulation and the legal challenges posed by agentic artificial intelligence.
His thesis looks at how the GDPR and the EU AI Act apply to agentic systems, including questions of controllership, transparency, data subjects’ rights, human oversight and international data transfers. The project also involves interviews with Data Protection Officers and legal counsel who work with these technologies, to see how the legal requirements are handled in practice.
During his time at LSTS, he is working on the comparative side of the thesis and on the practical problems that arise when applying the two regulatory frameworks.
Giorgio has also worked on GDPR compliance within ELSA (The European Law Students’ Association). Alongside his studies, he served as Secretary General of ELSA Rome and as Director of the Data Protection Team at ELSA Italy, where his work included records of processing activities, privacy notices and data governance
