Hripsime Asatryan
Biography
Hripsime obtained a master’s degree in European Interdisciplinary Studies at the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw), with a master thesis on the analytical images of gender aspects in socio-economic and political platforms in Armenia.
She also obtained a master’s degree in European Studies within a regional master program on Human Rights and Democratization at Yerevan State University and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, with a master thesis on the impact of cultural context on discriminative phenomenon.
Hripsime was a participant to a master program in curating art at the Institute for Contemporary Arts in Yerevan between 2014 and 2015.
Before joining VUB, she finalized a critical legal training on human rights strategic litigation at the International Crimes and Accountability department of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights in Berlin and coordinated an anti-corruption education project with Transparency International in Armenia.
Hripsime is a PhD candidate within LSTS and FRC research groups at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She will conduct her research in the area of big data, democracy and fundamental rights, focusing on the right to internet as a new human right.
