Imge Ozcan
Biography
Imge Ozcan is a researcher and PhD candidate at the interdisciplinary Research Group on Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She holds a Master's degree in Media and Cultural Studies from METU, Ankara.
Her PhD research focuses on self-management of health and patient activism, exploring ‘care’ as a form of politically significant maintenance work and its entanglements with biomedicine.
Her other research interests are feminist technoscience and inventive methodologies in social science research, to look for new ways to handle complexities in knowledge practices.
Between 2014-2020, she co-organised the annual PrivacyCamp.eu which served as a platform for collective action in search of the means for digital justice. Before academia, Imge worked in media industry including broadcast TV and publishing.
