Biography
Irene Kamara is Assistant Professor at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society, where she is teaching cybercrime, data protection, and non-discrimination to students with legal and technical educational background. Her research focuses on cybersecurity and data protection governance and transnational private regulation.
Irene obtained a PhD in law from Tilburg Law School and the Free University of Brussels on the role of technical standards in regulating the right to protection of personal data. Prior to joining academia she was working as attorney at law, admitted to the Athens Bar Association.
Irene is selected as a member of the ENISA Experts List for assisting in the implementation of the Annual ENISA Work Programme. Moreover, Irene is also nominated for the Individual Researcher Innovation award of the European Standardisation Organisations.
