He is also a qualified lawyer, admitted to the Athens Bar.
Andreas will present the first two chapters of his doctoral research “Harmonising the Unharmonisable? A Data Protection-Based Approach for the Regulation of Digital Investigative Measures in Criminal Procedure”
Seminar Overview:
With the increasing use of digital tools in criminal investigations- from open-source intelligence gathering to lawful hacking and AI-driven analysis- traditional legal frameworks face growing pressure. In his thesis, Andreas explores how EU data protection law can serve as a foundation for regulating these evolving practices, ensuring respect for fundamental rights while maintaining effective law enforcement capabilities. His presentation will focus on the conceptual and legal framework laid out in the first two chapters of his work.
