On 20 June 2019, LSTS postdoctoral researcher Rosamunde van Brakel will be a guest speaker talking about Smart Surveillance and Policing at the Surveillance Studies Summer Seminar 2019. The event takes place at the Surveillance Studies Centre, Queens University in Kingston, Canada.
This year’s theme is “Smart Surveillance?” and questions that will be addressed range from the theoretical "Is ‘smart’ always founded on surveillance?" to the empirical "What are the surveillance features, relations and consequences of particular smart practices, models and technologies?".
