On 15 February 2024, 12:30h - 13:30h CET, LSTS PhD researcher Anastasia Karagianni will present her paper entitled ‘Gender in a Stereo-(gender)Typical EU Law: A Feminist-Queer Reading of the EU ΑΙ Law’, followed by discussion.
This paper examines whether and how gender equality is preserved in the European Law on AI (EU AI Act). Based on a doctrinal analysis and legal analytical research, the different interpretations provided in European Equality Law (EU Equality Law) that vary from women’s rights to non-discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation or LGBTQIA+ rights- will be questioned, so that the main research question- whether AI Act is gender inclusive- can be answered.
This event will be in a hybrid format (both on-campus and online). Interested participants wishing to take part can register by sending an email to Pablo.Rodrigo.Trigo.Kramcsak@vub.be.
