Marius Kuehne

Marius Kuehne is a visiting researcher at the LSTS research group at the Faculty of Law and Criminology at VUB. He is also a research assistant and PhD candidate at Ruhr University Bochum (Germany), funded by a scholarship of the Heinrich Böll Foundation. His research focuses on issues of criminal procedure, data protection, hate speech, and policing.

Marius Kuehne studied political science and law at the University of Muenster and then completed a legal clerkship with an elective station at the German Institute for Human Rights. He is a fully qualified lawyer and holds a master's degree in political science. In addition to his academic work, he is a member of the editorial board of the journal CILIP | Civil Liberties and Police.
