Michal Czerniawski

Michal Czerniawski, Ph.D., is an affiliated researcher at VUB-LSTS, where he investigates legal issues pertaining to privacy and personal data protection. His research focuses on the territorial scope of privacy and data protection laws. He holds an LL.M. from the University of Ottawa (LL.M. with Concentration in Law and Technology). His master research paper, written under supervision of Prof. Michael Geist, dealt with the issue of graduated response and legal instruments aimed at reducing unlawful file sharing.

Michal studied law at the University of Warsaw (2003-2008), the University of Lisbon (2006-2007) and the University of Ottawa (2009-2010).
