Ioulia Konstantinou is a researcher and the Managing Director of the Brussels Laboratory for Data Protection & Privacy Impact Assessments (d.pia.lab) at the Research Group on Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She is also a qualified attorney at law. She has worked on the SeCloud project on Security-driven engineering of cloud-based applications (funded by Innoviris), the FP7 CRISP project on Evaluation and Certification Schemes for Security products and the Brussels Privacy Hub and ICRC project on Data Protection in Humantitarian Action.
Ioulia holds an LLB from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and an LLM in Law and Techonolgy from the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology and Society (TILT) of Tilburg University (the Netherlands). Prior to joining academia, she had completed a traineeship at the Supervision and Enforcement Unit of the European Data Protection Supervisor and had been working as an attorney at law in Greece.
