Onntje Hinrichs

Onntje Hinrichs joined LSTS in December 2021 as a Marie Curie Fellow in the H2020 ITN LeADS - Legality Attentive Data Scientists project. His work within LeADS focuses on exploring emerging forms of data governance, while his PhD research investigates how consumer law shapes the regulation of data.

Before transitioning to academia, Onntje gained extensive experience as a legal advisor for a French-German consumer association. Within the European Consumer Centres Network, established by the European Commission, he assisted consumers in reaching out-of-court solutions for cross-border disputes.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in European Studies from Maastricht University, a Master in European Law from Lyon 3 University, and an LLM in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Law from Queen Mary University of London.
