On 14 June 2019, LSTS welcomed in Brussels a delegation of researchers from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies (CIM), University of Warwick, UK. Together, the two research groups organised a full-day joint workshop on "Rights as Methodology? Researching at the Intersections of Law, Technology, Knowledge and Society". The participants had the opportunity to exchange views, amongst others, on methodologies with respect to transparency, reverse 'right' engineering, STS and feminist approaches. The contrinbutions focused on the question: under what conditions are and can 'rights' be deployed 'as methodology' to conduct social and cultural research in data-intensive societies?
A full overview of the workshop, a summary of the discussions and the next steps of this cooperation can be found here.
