Rocco Saverino
Biography
Rocco Saverino joined LSTS in July 2022 as a PhD student. He is part of the ALTEP-DP project and focuses his research on the critical role of Data Protection Authorities in enforcing the regulations on data protection and considering their impact in the context of AI (Act).
Rocco obtained his law degree cum laude from the Faculty of Law of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria (Italy), writing his thesis partly in Granada (Spain) as an Erasmus student. He holds an LL.M. in Digital Society from the University of Alicante (Spain).
Before joining LSTS, Rocco participated as legal expert in a workshop “Hadrian Project WP6”, an EU H2020 project focused on analysing the ethical and legal implications of data collection and management during the interaction of drivers with partially automated driving functions.
Rocco is member of the International Mediterranean Centre for Human Rights Research (MICHR), whose aim is to promote study, research and education in the field of human rights, through an interdisciplinary approach.
