Stefano Tramacere
Biography
Stefano Tramacere is a PhD Candidate in AI for Society at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa (Dirpolis Institute – Law, Politics and Development) and at the University of Pisa (Department of Computer Science). He is a member of the LIDER-Lab at Sant’Anna and a Visiting Researcher within the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). During his stay at the LSTS, he works under the guidance of Prof. Mireille Hildebrandt and Prof. Gloria Gonzalez Fuster.
His research project seeks, from an interdisciplinary perspective, to combine the legal concept of transparency and accountability with explainable AI (XAI) techniques concerning the design, development, and deployment of high-risk AI systems.
Stefano graduated in Law - European, Transnational and Comparative Law curriculum - Magna cum Laude from the University of Trento (Italy) in September 2022. During his master’s degree, he carried out two study experiences abroad at the Faculty of Law of the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania; and at the Faculty of Law and at Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
