Andrés Chomczyk Penedo whose PhD thesis looked at MAKING CHOICES IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY: IMPROVING TRANSPARENCY TO ASSIST CONSENT has recently started a new position as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Law and Technology (IDT) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). His PhD research focused on innovative ways to empower individuals to make meaningful, informed decisions about their data in the context of the EU 2020 Data Strategy
Anastasiya Kiseleva's thesis explored 'Transparent Development and Deployment of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: A Multilayered Accountability Framework Integrating Law and Computer Science to Address Technological and Human Opacity'. This interdisciplinary research investigates the legal landscape and technical restraints for the development and deployment of AI in healthcare, with a view to achieving sufficient transparency for the main groups of stakeholders involved: patients, healthcare providers and developers of the technology.
