Welcome Chiara Angiolini, new LSTS visiting scholar (19 June - 26 July 2019)

Chiara Angiolini joined LSTS as a visiting scholar on 19 June 2019 and she will be here until the 26^th of July.

During her stay she will do research related to the preparation of her first book on personal data and the concept of goods (biens). The main research question is whether personal data, as regulated in the EU legal framework, are qualified as goods, or as personal attributes or whether they can be conceived of as a hybrid between object and subject.

The participation to the research activities of the LSTS and the exchanges with its members will constitute an important opportunity to improve her research, discussing it with some of the most important experts in Europe.

She is currently a post-doc researcher at the Law Department of the University of Trento, where she works in the framework of the project FRICORE – Fundamental Rights in Courts and Regulation, a judicial training project on the impact of fundamental rights and european courts’ judgements in national legal systems. Her work in the project mainly regards data protection and consumer law.  She is member of the Common Core of European Law Project, and of the European Law Institute (ELI).

Generally speaking, her research interests are data protection law, property law and fundamental rights, commons studies, critical family law, private law theory, consumer law. She was part of some research projects in France and in Italy. She holds a Ph.D. in Law, Market and Person (Private Law) from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy (2018) and a five-year law degree (cum laude) from the University of Pisa, Italy (2014). She is also a qualified lawyer in Italy.
