Biography
Yunting Song is a doctoral researcher at VUB supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). She started her PhD research in November 2025 under the supervision of Prof Vagelis Papakonstantinou. Her PhD research explores legal approaches to digital governance, with a particular focus on the balance between exclusivity and publicness in data circulation as well as the legal construction of dynamic exclusivity in the data economy.
She holds an Advanced Master’s degree in Law and Digital Technology from Leiden University (2024–2025), a Juris Master from Nanjing University (2020–2022). Before starting her PhD, she worked in a research position at an administrative institute and gained practical experience through internships at a court, a procuratorate and a law firm.
Her research interests include data law, digital governance, AI regulation, data property and entitlement structures. She has published several articles in the field of law and technology, including work on corporate data interests, smart contract disputes and anonymity in personal information law.
