On Friday, 1 May 2020 Prof Mireille Hildebrandt presented at a lunch seminar at the computer science department of her other affiliation (Radboud University), together with Jaap-Henk Hoepman.
The question was whether this is a nice opportunity and showcase for Privacy-by-Design, or a privacy disaster that we should fight at all cost? Or, even more fundamental, should we take the position that the discussion of privacy is only a distraction from the more fundamental issue that the whole enterprise is just techno-solutionism and that this piece of technology is not going to solve anything? The speakers discussed their positions, based on the declaration signed by Mireille and Jaap-Henk’s blog.
